Hello! My name is Vivien Dolivo, and this summer I served as a marketing communications intern for Bluebeam. My internship focused on supporting our retention marketing team with content and creative creation to support programs like the Bluebeam Academic Program and Bluebeam User Groups (BUG).
I sometimes work out of our Pasadena, California office, but today I modeled Bluebeam’s flexible work approach and worked from home. Here is a day in the life of a Bluebeam intern!
8:00 am:
I clock in! I check emails and Slack channels, since most of my teammates are located in different time zones.
8:30 am:
I have my daily check-in meeting with Sophie Macks, Bluebeam’s Senior Academic Specialist and my mentor. First, we go over current projects that we’re working on together, then we spend a chunk of time talking about the upcoming Bluebeam Academic Month campaign that runs throughout September.
9:30 am:
I have a meeting with Angela Aff, our Community Manager on the retention marketing team. We discussed upcoming posts for the Bluebeam Community (BUG) LinkedIn page. Then I interviewed her for an internal company post that will be going up a month from now.
10:00 am:
I begin working on more drafts for our Academic Month campaign with the materials the creative team sent us. This includes creating the post and writing the copy for all the posts in the month of September.
12:00 pm:
I leave my desk for lunch. I went to Able Coffee Roasters and read for a bit.
1:00 pm:
I’m back home and continuing to work on social media templates/copy ideas. And, of course, getting a little cuddle time with my cat, Hercules (full name: Hercules-Godzilla).
3:00 pm:
I start reviewing notes from my interview with the YSU team at the ASCE Concrete Canoe competition. I’m writing an article about the team, which will be published on the Bluebeam Built Blog. During my internship, I had the chance to write two articles for the blog. Be sure to read my article about construction student, Eduardo Juanes!
4:00 – 4:45 pm:
I join my last meeting of the day with the Communications and Marketing team, where we all share what we’re working on to help with collaboration across the company. I usually give updates on the Academic Month campaign.
5:00 pm:
I clock out. I read my book and made dinner…
