- What is the difference between Bluebeam PDF Revu CAD Edition and Adobe 6.0 Professional?
-
Bluebeam allows users to batch create PDF files from AutoCAD (No Adobe solution
has this). Adobe's solutions require users to convert drawings one by one.
The time savings using this feature can be immense considering the average
large AEC project can have over a thousand drawings.
-
Bluebeam allows users to convert their drawings and documents to PDF, DWF, TIF, JPG, BMP,
PSD, PNG, PCL, GIF, EMF, and WMF.
-
Bluebeam's PDF Printer driver is the only one with specialized presets for the
top 10 CAD applications so your CAD drawings always look accurate (Not
available with Adobe's solutions )
-
Bluebeam PDF Revu CAD Edition is the only PDF application with a printing solution,
Bluebeam Blue-print, which allows users to send their drawings directly from
their PDF interface directly to an expert reprographer.
-
Bluebeam has enhanced FTP and E-mail features that make files sharing
effortless
-
Bluebeam has specialized security features developed to protect CAD drawings
-
Bluebeam has specialized bookmarking features with CAD-specific options (Again,
not available with Adobe's solutions)
-
Bluebeam has a comprehensive solution to accurately render all merged lines
from an AutoCAD drawing. This is extremely important for firms that need to
share their drawings with contractors and clients. It ensures that your PDF
file is an exact representation of your CAD drawing and can be shared and
plotted with confidence (We are partnered with the US Reprographics network,
the largest reprographics network in the world. They have stated that Bluebeam
is the ideal plot submission software for their customers.)

Customers that choose maintenance with their 5 seats of software will save $155
with each version upgrade and benefit from unlimited technical support.
*Example 2:

Customers that choose maintenance with their 25 seats of software will save
$475 with each version upgrade and benefit from unlimited technical support.
- What is a Minor Upgrade?
Periodically Bluebeam releases two types of upgrades for the different software products that we develop and
market. Bluebeam releases minor upgrades when we make small enhancements to an existing version of software.
Minor upgrades are free of charge to customers that have purchased the same version of the software. For
example, customers that have purchased v4 of our software can always upgrade from v4.0 to v4.7 or any other
version 4 release of our software. Customers can get the latest minor upgrade for free by visiting our website
and downloading the latest version of our software (You can also go to this webpage: www.bluebeam.com/pbpdfinstall).
Our software is designed to overwrite the previous version of software found on a computer. If prompted for a
serial number and password simply use the same codes from the digital license certificate we e-mailed to you
when you purchased the last version of your software.
- What is a Major Upgrades?
Less frequently Bluebeam launches major upgrades of our software solutions. Bluebeam releases major upgrades when
we have added significant new features to our software. Current customers can upgrade to the latest major version
(A major version upgrade would be an upgrade from v4.0 to v5.0) by purchasing a discounted upgrade on our website
or through Bluebeam Sales. Customers that are on Bluebeam annual software maintenance do not have to purchase
upgrades as they receive all upgrades free of charge. Users can now also purchase annual software maintenance
with their upgrades. This is a great option for customers that like to stay current with the latest version of
AutoCAD or SolidWorks, which Bluebeam’s professional software solutions plug into.
- What if I upgrade my AutoCAD or SolidWorks software and do not have the latest version of Bluebeam?
Customers that upgrade to the latest version of AutoCAD and SolidWorks but do not have the latest version of
Bluebeam PDF Revu that plugs into that CAD version still create PDF files using Bluebeam’s PDF Printer
Driver (Open up a drawing or document and select File, Print—or Plot—and select the Bluebeam PDF printer Driver.
Proceed as if you were printing to a paper printer. Instead of printing out a page Bluebeam will convert the
drawing or document on your screen to a PDF file). If you do not have the latest version of Bluebeam that plugs
into AutoCAD or SolidWorks you will no longer see the Bluebeam buttons in your AutoCAD and SolidWorks toolbar.
- I have the latest version of Bluebeam and recently upgraded AutoCAD or SolidWorks and now I can’t find my Bluebeam buttons.
If you have a version of Bluebeam that is supposed to plug into an application and cannot see the Bluebeam buttons
in your toolbar please follow these simple steps:
- Close out of your CAD application
- Go to Start/Programs/Bluebeam Software/Bluebeam Administrator
- In the Plug-Ins tab check off all the programs that you want our application to plug into and select OK
- Open up your CAD application and you should see the Bluebeam buttons in your toolbar

Batch Creation
One of our most helpful tools is Bluebeam Batch. Rather than converting your drawings one by one, Bluebeam Batch allows you to convert
hundreds of DWG to PDF, and SolidWorks to PDF in a single batch, saving you time and money.
|
PDF Markup
Included with the CAD to PDF creation software is Bluebeam PDF Revu for PDF markup and editing. Within Revu, you will find an extensive
list of markup tools including text box, typewriter, highlighter, symbols, stamps, images and clouds to customize your PDF.
Bluebeam's dedication to the CAD community is indisputable with the addition of hatch patterns, arcs and curves, and specialized tool sets.
Save frequently used tools in "My Tools" for easy access and quick marking up. Also, each PDF created using Bluebeam follows the
PDF standard and is readable from any PDF viewer accommodating you and your affiliates.
|
PDF Forms
PDF files containing form fields are easily viewed and completed with Revu. Bluebeam automatically recognizes a PDF form and allows you to fill in text, select from a drop down list, check boxes, select radio buttons and press Submit or Reset buttons. Saving filled or partially filled forms to your hard drive helps you avoid losing any work.
|
Bluebeam Stapler
The Bluebeam Stapler is a stand-alone program that effortlessly binds many different types of documents.
With Stapler you can combine a number of different files ranging from Office documents to images files.
Stapler allows you to either bind files to create one single PDF, or create a single PDF for each separate file.
MORE ABOUT STAPLER
|
Digital Signatures
Create digital signature fields, certify documents and add digital signatures to PDF files. Bluebeam's intelligent technology can detect if the file has been altered after being signed so you can send your intellectual property with peace of mind.
|
|
|
One-Button Creation
After installation, Bluebeam will integrate into your AutoCAD and SolidWorks programs and install four buttons at the top of your interface.
The first button converts your active SolidWorks file or DWG to PDF from your interface, automatically reading your drawing settings (color,
scale, line weights, paper size, etc.). Bluebeam PDF Revu will open your PDF and allow for markup and editing.
MORE ABOUT CREATION
|
PDF Editing
PDF Editing saves time by allowing you to change the PDF without recreating it from the original file. Easily edit the PDF by adding or deleting
text, customizing the font and font color, changing the layout and more. PDF Page Editing gives you the ability to add blank pages, insert,
extract and rotate pages as well as copy and paste true text from your PDF into Word and other MS Office files.
|
Compare Documents
With Bluebeam's exclusive MultiView™, comparing document revisions has never been easier. Open up to sixteen separate tabbed views
simultaneously; view the same document, different documents, or open multiple documents. Turn on Sync™ and see all views pan and
zoom in unison. Revu automatically compares two PDF drawings and marks the differences with clouds. Need to compare a lot of PDF
drawings? Use batch processing to save even more time.
|
PDF Measurement
Take measurements (length, area, perimeter, volume, etc) and count from PDFs electronically. Bluebeam does all the work for you. Results are automatically displayed in a list that can be summarized and imported into Excel for further calculations.
