BLUEBEAM ACADEMIC PROGRAMME

Students and educators apply individually via the form on this page.

1. Click ‘Request a Free Subscription’, fill out the required fields and submit the form.
2. Complete the SheerID academic verification step that follows. This step may require you to sign in to your academic institution account via SSO or to upload documentation to confirm your eligibility. (If your application is pending or rejected, contact SheerID for more information.)
3. Once verified, you’ll automatically be granted a free, 12-month Bluebeam subscription. Look out for a welcome email from Bluebeam.
4. New users must verify their email and create a Bluebeam password before they can use their subscription. You should receive a separate email prompting you to complete this step.
5. Complete the multifactor authentication step when prompted.
6. Download and install Bluebeam Revu 21 to get started with Bluebeam on desktop, or use your Bluebeam ID and password to sign in on web or mobile.

Bluebeam Academic users receive free, 12-month subscriptions to Bluebeam Max, our most powerful version yet. We want you to be able to train on the same software the pros are using!

Your Academic subscription of Bluebeam Max includes:

• Access to Bluebeam on desktop, web and mobile
• Full access to Bluebeam Studio for collaboration
• Bluebeam Revu connected to AI via MCP
• The newest markup tools and workflow features
• Access to the complete training library on Bluebeam University

Please note that academic subscriptions are for academic purposes only; they may not be used for commercial projects.

Please make sure you have installed Bluebeam Revu 21 and applied for an academic subscription by filling out the form at the top of this page (“Request a Free Subscription”).

If you’ve not yet been approved and need help with the academic verification step, please contact our verification partners at SheerID for assistance. This includes users who feel they have been incorrectly rejected. The Bluebeam team cannot help with the verification process.

If you’ve been verified and approved for a Bluebeam Academic subscription but are having issues with your account, please email [email protected].

Please email [email protected] to get started with free academic access for apprentices and instructors at your training centre. Apprentices aren’t always successfully validated as students by the SheerID system, so this process provides an alternative pathway to academic access.

We love connecting with educators using Bluebeam in the classroom! Please email [email protected] to get in touch with our Academic Team.

Good news! Classrooms and computer labs no longer need to apply for a Bluebeam licence! Lab administrators can download Revu 21 for free here and install it across machines using this implementation guide. Registered academic users can log in to their Bluebeam accounts to access Bluebeam functionality from any computer with Revu 21 installed.

We offer students and educators free access to Bluebeam University (BBU), which includes numerous self-paced courses, live webinars and learning paths covering everything from basic features to advanced workflows.

We can also work with you to arrange a live, virtual session to introduce Bluebeam to new student groups. If you’re an instructor or a student group leader, please contact [email protected] for any enquiries.

Your academic subscription will remain active until its original expiry date. You’re welcome to use it for personal projects or to build your skills via Bluebeam University for the duration of your internship.

Please note that academic subscriptions are for academic purposes only; they may not be used for commercial projects as part of your internship.

Your academic subscription is valid for one year from the date you’re approved. For example, if you receive your subscription on 1 September, your licence will expire on 1 September of the following year.

Academic users who still have an active student or educator status may renew their Academic subscription by filling out the application form on this page. You may initiate your renewal in the thirty (30) days before your academic subscription expires, or at any point after the expiry date.

We offer academic subscriptions for students and educators in credit-bearing courses at secondary schools, sixth-form colleges, universities and FE colleges. Additionally, apprentices and trainers at registered apprenticeship programmes are eligible for Bluebeam’s academic subscriptions. Please see the detailed eligibility information above on this page for complete information.

If your academic institution does not appear as an option on the application form, please request that it be added here.

We partner with SheerID to verify the academic affiliations of students and teachers. For some users, SheerID can complete this validation step with only the information submitted on the form. For others, the process will also require login via SSO or documentation confirming the user’s name, academic institution name and current employment/enrolment.

Please see SheerID’s FAQ for more information about verification requirements for students and teachers.

To connect with industry professionals in your area, we recommend joining a Bluebeam User Group (BUG) within the Bluebeam Community. Interested in starting a Student BUG at your academic institution? If so, email [email protected].
