Working with Layers in Bluebeam PDF Revu

Revu allows you to view PDFs with layers as well as create your own layers. You can combine multiple PDFs into one layered PDF or save your annotations and markups onto custom made layers.

When you open a PDF with layers in Revu, the Layer panel on the left side of the interface will display.

You can turn each layer on and off by clicking the eyeball icon next to the layer title.

To Combine Multiple PDFs into one layered PDF, simply choose File > Create Layered PDF and select the PDF files you would like to combine.

To Layer your Annotations and Markups onto one PDF, follow these steps for each new layer.
  1. Create your annotation/markup
  2. Choose File > Flatten PDF
  3. Within the Flatten Markups dialog box, select, Create Layer
  4. Title the new layer
  5. Click Flatten, to save your new layer
