Ask the Expert

Am I able to Search a PDF for particular key words?

Using the Search tool is great way to find information within PDF documents quickly and easily. With Bluebeam PDF Revu version 6.2, this search tool is even more powerful, allowing you to search not only the current PDF document but other open PDF documents and even entire folders, including subfolders.

Once the search results are displayed, click on a result to see that particular word within its native document. You can even select search results and perform specific actions on them, such as Highlight, Underline or Redact.

For instance, if you want to redact a specific word from a set of PDF documents, start by opening the search panel by clicking the icon. Next, enter the keyword, define where you want Revu to perform the search and then click Search.

The results will be displayed, grouped together by document. From here you can select specific search results to be redacted by checking the box next to the result. Once you’ve made your selections, click the icon and select “Mark checked for Redaction” (or highlight, underline, etc.). To complete the Redaction process, you must follow the steps in the dialog windows to apply the redactions and then save the document.

Searching through multiple documents at once will save you valuable time allowing you to get on with other tasks at hand.
