October 2003
Bluebeam Pushbutton PDF ($249) plugs into AutoCAD and SolidWorks to produce
scalable, high-resolution, printer-ready drawings with one click. Each copy of
Pushbutton PDF comes with the new Bluebeam PDF printer that lets you create
PDFs from any CAD or Windows application. Recently SolidWorks announced that
beginning with SolidWorks 2004, it will embed Bluebeam PDF in its software.
Pushbutton PDF generates files directly from your CAD application. You can
transfer hyperlinks from the CAD file to the PDF to link specifications to
drawing notes. AutoCAD block attributes convert to text-searchable PDF file
properties. Pushbutton PDF adds custom text stamps and embeds file attachments
for document configuration control. It also adds PDF digital signature fields
for project approvals.
You can set custom page sizes, and Pushbutton PDF automatically determines the
best conversion settings for resolution, line widths, and font embedding.
Pushbutton PDF is actually a two-part application: the Pushbutton PDF
administrator, through which you select the AutoCAD configuration to use, and
the Pushbutton menu/printer driver that creates the PDF document. Pushbutton
PDF is quite fast at creating PDF files, with many welcome options for creating
the final file.
It supports Windows NT/2000/XP and works with AutoCAD 2000-2004 and SolidWorks
2001-2004. All Windows applications and most CAD applications support the
Bluebeam PDF printer driver. A time-limited evaluation is available from the
Bluebeam Web site at www.bluebeam.com. Volume discounts are offered. Contact
sales@bluebeam.com for more information.
