Martial Arts Charity Kicks It Up a Notch With Revu

Martial Arts Charity Kicks It Up a Notch With Revu

Problem

Nir, a fundraiser for a martial arts non-profit organization, is responsible for submitting grant applications for the charity. Each organization that Nir works with has its own standard for creating and distributing grant application forms. Some ship hard copies, while others email PDFs, Word documents, PowerPoint files or images. Dealing with so many different file types consumed too much time for Nir. His focus was supposed to be on creating compelling content for each potential grant, however he soon realized that he was spending at least an hour filling out and properly formatting each document.

Requirements

With the goal of keeping grant submissions paperless, Nir searched for the black belt of software solutions that met the following requirements:
  • Convert various Windows files and hard copies into one universal file format.
  • Provide standard markup and editing tools that add text boxes, insert images and assemble pages.
  • Simple interface, so Nir could hit the ground running and focus on content, not learning a new software application.
After reviewing various applications, Nir found the perfect fit with Bluebeam PDF Revu Standard Edition.

Solution

Nir discovered that Bluebeam PDF Revu roundhoused the competition by meeting all of his requirements and then some. Revu creates and edits PDFs – a universally accepted file format that Nir can email to recipients. Various grant application forms are converted to PDF with MS Office plug-ins, a PDF printer driver and a scan to PDF feature. Bluebeam provides all the markup capabilities that Nir needs to complete grant applications. He can add customized text with the text box or typewriter tool, easily insert images into PDFs and insert a cover letter using page editing tools.

Revu implements all of the markup and editing features in an intuitive interface, and even provides smart tools for making the grant application process easier. For example, Nir discovered the tool chest, where he stores his company logo and other commonly used markups. He also uses the Digital Signatures feature to sign and validate his grant applications, using a digital ID created in Revu.

In addition to filling in grants, Nir found other uses for Bluebeam. He frequently creates award certificates for students and sponsors that participate in the martial arts programs. Nir created a PDF template of this award certificate, and fills it in for each recipient using the typewriter.

"I'm so happy with Bluebeam PDF Revu," said Nir. "It used to take me an hour to fill in grants, just because I had to tinker with different documents to format them correctly. Now that I use Bluebeam, it only takes me 10 minutes to fill in the documents, and the software is so much easier to use."
