What is Studio Server?
Studio Server is for companies that want to host a Bluebeam Studio session on their own locally-hosted server, behind their own firewalls. IT Administrators can set the preferences for variables such as number of session attendees and the size of files stored on the server.
What do I need to install Studio Server?
Your IT Administrator will need a few things to install Studio server.
A registered copy of Studio Server
Internet Information Services (IIS) 7 or higher (free from Microsoft)
SQL Server 2005 or higher (SQL Server 2008 or higher recommended)
An SMTP Server with an email address Studio Server can use
A certificate from a trusted CA (certificate authority)-recommended for your enterprise. Note: A self-signed certificate (created by Studio Server) can be used for evaluation purposes.
What do I need to start a Studio session on Studio Server?
You need a few things to host a Studio session on Studio Server:
A license of Studio Server installed on your server
Authorized access to the server
Bluebeam PDF Revu to access the Studio session
Your email address so you can create a Studio Server account
Users with a license of Bluebeam Revu 8.5 or 9.5.1 can start a Studio session as the host. The host starts the session, adds PDF documents, invites attendees and defines the security and permissions (save or print PDF files). They are the only ones who have the ability to generate a report of activity in the Record or finish the session. The host does not need to be in the session for other people to join the session and add markups. Once a session is started, anyone who has been invited can login to the session while it is active on the server.
What do I need to join a Studio session on Studio Server?
You only need three things to participate in a Studio session on Studio Server:
Authorized access to the server
An installation of Bluebeam Revu (Bluebeam Revu 8.5 or 9.5.1)
An email address so you can create a Studio account
You do not need to purchase a license of Revu to participate in a Studio session. A trial, expired trial or registered installation of Revu can be used. If you do not already have Revu 8.5 or 9.5.1 installed, you can download the trial here. A Studio account must be created so the host can authorize you to participate in the session and so other attendees can identify you.
What is the maximum number of users that can join a Studio session on Studio Server?
Your IT Administrator will determine the maximum number of users who can join a Studio session.
What is the maximum file size for a Studio session on Studio Server?
Your IT Administrator will determine the maximum number of PDFs and file sizes allowed for a Studio session.
What is the maximum size of markups that can be added to a PDF in a Studio session on Studio Server?
The total size of markups per PDF can reach up to 1GB in size; however, your IT Administrator will determine the maximum markup size.
How long does a Studio session remain active on Studio Server?
Your IT Administrator will determine when sessions will become archived or deleted after a set amount of time.
