Bluebeam Software, developer of innovative PDF solutions for paperless workflows, today announced its selection as winner of the 2011 designEX Sustainability Award for its new digital platform solution, Bluebeam PDF Revu 9.
DesignEx, Australia's leading design and architecture event, named the winners of its annual New Product Award competition at the opening of this year's three-day industry exhibition, held April 13-15 at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre.
"Bluebeam PDF Revu 9 gives architects a sustainable way to communicate with project teams digitally and paperlessly, significantly reducing unnecessary paper and toner usage and shipping by as much as 85%," said Stephani Haynes, Director of Worldwide Marketing for Bluebeam. "We are excited to receive the designEX New Product Award for Sustainability, deemed one of the most prestigious of all thirteen award categories."
Launched in late March, the latest version of Bluebeam PDF Revu is packed with advanced tools to streamline PDF-based digital workflows, making it easier than ever for design and construction firms to go paperless. Popular features include industry-standard PDF redlining tools including text, highlights, clouds, measurements, shapes and CAD symbols; the exclusive Tool Chest™ for saving custom markups for easy reuse; the integrated Markups list for tracking all design comments on a PDF; text and VisualSearch™ functionality for locating keywords and symbols on PDFs and instantly adding highlights and hyperlinks to search results; the drawing comparison feature which automatically compares PDF drawing revisions and clouds the differences; and Bluebeam Studio™ for real-time collaboration.
Winners and finalists for the New Product Awards were selected based on criteria including excellence in design and manufacture, innovative features, functionality, commercial viability and environmental sensitivity. Winners were named in 13 different categories, from decorative accessories, lighting and furniture, to flooring, building technologies and the coveted sustainability award.
Said Haynes, "The designEx New Product Award is one of Australia's most respected design awards, known for recognizing smart, innovative new products. To have our Bluebeam PDF Revu 9 join the ranks of distinguished Australian products is a tremendous honor."
